Paulo (Wences) Duarte é um autor (escritor-roteirista), diretor e produtor audiovisual brasileiro, que cria e realiza nas áreas de Audiovisual, Música, Teatro, Publicidade e Novas Mídias.
Premiado nacional e internacionalmente, tem suas obras exibidas em canais como: Sony Channel, AXN Channel, Warner Channel, Canal Brasil e Cine Brasil TV.
Consultor audiovisual para desenvolvimento de conteúdo programático educacional junto ao SENAC.
Palestrante de Workshops e Oficinas de Storytelling em empresas e instituições de ensino, entre elas a Escola Modelo do SESC no Rio de Janeiro.
Roteirista filiado à ABRA (Associação Brasileira de Autores Roteiristas)

BIOGRAFIA DA VIDA REAL
(DE ONDE EU VIM E QUEM EU SOU)
Eu sou o Paulo, filho da Dona Maria, uma nordestina, mãe solteira, de pouquíssima formação escolar, que criou seus dois filhos e colocou os dois na faculdade.
Eu sou o Paulo, criado em uma casa com 7 mulheres de diversas idades e gerações diferentes, e portanto , desde a mais tenra idade, acostumado às dores e aos amores do universo feminino.
Eu sou o Paulo, que foi criado na periferia da zona sul de SP em um ambiente cercado de tipos curiosos e até bizarros e onde A VIOLÊNCIA em suas mais variadas formas fazia parte natural da paisagem.
Eu sou o Paulo, filho da Dona Maria, que além de mãe carnal, também é Mãe de Santo, e muito por conta disso, desde cedo, eu também tive contato com pessoas de várias camadas sociais, gêneros, raças, crenças que eram recebidas na casa de minha mãe.
Este background me permite contar as histórias que eu conto.

Diretor e Produtor da série documental “MAZZAROPI” exibida pelo Canal Brasil originado do longa “MAZZAROPI” do qual também foi o Produtor;
Responsável pelo resgate e lançamento do acervo filmográfico do artista Amácio Mazzaropi em Home-Video e TV. Este extenso trabalho, que levou anos de pesquisa, o transformou em biógrafo do artista com o lançamento do seu livro “Mazzaropi – Uma Antologia de Risos” projeto especial da Coleção Aplauso, editada pela Imprensa Oficial de SP e com todas as edições esgotadas.
Diretor, Roteirista e Produtor do multipremiado documentário “O VELHO GUERREIRO NÃO MORRERÁ” que conta a história do cineasta Lima Barreto e a produção de seu clássico filme “O Cangaceiro”, pela Cia Vera Cruz. O documentário deu origem a série de 10 capítulos exibida pelo Canal Cine Brasil TV.

NOVOS PROJETOS - EM DESENVOLVIMENTO
Desenvolve série de ficção (drama com ação, aventura e terror) sobre o cangaço intitulada: "CANGAÇO - A SÉRIE". Projeto Vencedor do Laboratório de Imersão da "Escola de Séries" (2016).
Desenvolve o roteiro do longa "ROSÁRIO BELÉM", vencedor do Edital de Doctoring Spcine - 2016-2017.
Escreve, dirige e produz o documentário independente “ONDE DORMEM OS SONHOS DO PASSADO" sobre a relação das pessoas com a "memória" cultural e sentimental através da história de 5 personalidades brasileiras geniais, esquecidas pelo tempo.
Produz, dirige e escreve em parceria com o pesquisador Carlos Primati, série documental sobre o universo do cineasta José Mojica Marins: "MOJICA DE A a ZÉ".
Embora sua área de atuação seja centrada regularmente na escrita, direção e produção, costuma exercer em seus projetos e de parceiros, as funções de diretor de fotografia, montador e músico-compositor.
É sócio-fundador da Reza Brava Filmes, produtora independente com base em São Paulo.

REAL LIFE BIOGRAPHY
(WHERE I COME FROM AND WHO I AM)
I am Paulo, son of Dona Maria, a northeastern woman, a single mother, with very little schooling, who raised her two children and put them both in college.
I am Paulo, raised in a house with 7 women of different ages and different generations, and therefore, from an early age, used to the pains and loves of the female universe.
I am Paulo, who was raised on the outskirts of the south of São Paulo in an environment surrounded by curious and even bizarre types and where VIOLENCE in its most varied forms is a natural part of the landscape.
I am Paulo, son of Dona Maria, who besides being a carnal mother, is also a Mother of Saint, and because of that, since early, I also had contact with people from various social strata, genders, races, beliefs that were received at my mother's house.
This background allows me to tell the stories that I tell.

He is Screenwriter, Producer, Editor, Co-Composer and Co-Director of the international awarded independent telefilm "Réquiem for Laura Martin" featured by Sony Channel and AXN Channel
He is Producer and Guest Director of the film “INSUBORDINATE” by Edu Felistoque
He is Director and Producer of the documental series “MAZZAROPI" featured by Canal Brasil, from the feature movie “MAZZAROPI”, of which he was also the Producer;
He is responsible for recovering and releasing the artist Amácio Mazzaropi´s movies catalogue in Home-Video and TV. His long work, which has taken years of research, transformed him in the biographer of the artist with the release of his book “Mazzaropi – An Anthology of Laughs” special project of the Applause Collection, published by the Official Press of SP, and with all the copies sold out.
He is Director, Screenwriter, and Producer of the multi awarded documentary “THE OLD WARRIOR WON'T DIE”, which tells the history of the filmmaker Lima Barreto, and the production of his classical movie “O Cangaceiro”, by Cia Vera Cruz. The documentary originated the 10-chapter series featured by Canal Cine Brasil TV.

NEW PROJECTS - IN DEVELOPMENT
He currently develops the fiction series (action drama, adventure and horror) about the Cangaço called: “CANGAÇO - THE SERIES”. Winner Project of the School of Series Immersion Laboratory – RJ (2016)
He currently writes and develops the feature film script "ROSÁRIO BELÉM", Winner of the Spcine Doctoring Fellowship Program 2016-2017.
He currently writes, directs, and produces the documentary
“WHERE REST THE DREAMS FROM THE PAST” about the people's relationship with the cultural and sentimental "memory" taking for example the story of five genial Brazilian personalities, forgotten by time.
He produces, directs, and writes in partnership with the researcher Carlos Primati the documental series about the universe of the filmmaker José José Mojica: "MOJICA FROM A to ZÉ".
Although his area of activity is regularly focused on writing, directing, and producing, he uses to play the roles of director of photography, editor, and composer-musician in his projects and in the projects of his partners.
He is founder-partner of Reza Brava Filmes, an independent producer company headquartered in São Paulo.
