Janete está sempre em um hospital, onde acompanha a internação de seu pai, um coronel aposentado da Polícia Militar, que está inconsciente. Ela ocupa as horas ociosas escrevendo seu primeiro romance, uma história policial influenciada pelos relatos do próprio pai quando era mais jovem. Aos poucos as pessoas que ela conhece em sua monótona rotina ganham vida também nas páginas do livro em formação, de acordo com a imaginação da autora.

Janete is always in a hospital, where she stays with her father admitted to treatment, a retired Military Police colonel, who is unconscious.  She spends her idle hours writing her first novel, a police history influenced by the reports of her own father when he was younger.  Gradually, people she gets to know during her boring routine also come alive in the pages of the book under preparation, according to the author´s imagination.
